Heart Of Europe Tour


‘The Heart of Europe Tour’ is Mellow Journeys most premium package to date and places you between these scenic mountain ranges:

  • Vosges (France)

  • Black Forest (Germany)

  • Swiss Alps (Switzerland)

This picturesque area brings together the beauty of each country, resulting in one simply astounding place on earth.

The journey starts in Birmingham. We will be travelling through the channel tunnel and the motorway to the French region of Alsace with a VW 9 seater minibus.

The Vosges
We will start with a three nights stay in a private accommodation in a small mountain village in the Alsace Region, from where we will explore the French mountain range of the Vosges, including:

  • Lake swimming and forest walks;

  • Campfire and stargazing

  • A traditional mountain farm visit;

  • Trek to the ‘Grand Ballon’ (1424m);

  • Journey to the renown reconstructed medieval village ‘Écomusée d'Alsace’;

  • Visit to the ‘Hartmannswillerkopf’ – an important battlefield dating back to World War 1.

The Alps
Our journey continues with a two nights stay in Switzerland including a camping night in Luzern and a night in a Swiss mountain hut at high altitude (2328m):

  • Exploring / trekking in 2 mountain ranges incl. using a cable cart;

  • Luzern City Tour including lake swimming in the Lake Luzern!

  • Exploring a major glacier and the source of the 'Rhone';

  • Learn more about the Alpine lifestyle of the local people

The Black Forest
From there we head to Germany for the last leg of the tour, spending the final three nights in a private accommodation or local hotel in the medieval town of Freiburg and learn more about the German culture and way of life:

  • Explore parts of the Black Forest in the 'Schauinsland' (1284m) and using the cable cart.

  • Refreshing river fun in the 'Dreisam' River

  • Freiburg City Tour including a visit to the famous 'Freiburger Munster' - an ancient Cathedral that took over three centuries to built.

  • Shopping opportunities in the town center.

An All-Inclusive Package
The price includes:

  • Travelling costs for the entire journey

  • Overnight stays

  • Accommodation

  • Museums and other entrance fees Cable car & tram fees

  • Three meals per day: breakfast, lunch (including snack) and dinner including restaurants!
